Christopher Jon Roberts was born in Santa Monica, California. He grew up with his Mom’s art lying around the house. She was an art teacher but tragically had to retire early due to her illness. At his mother encouragement Jon was an inspiring painter and photographer who desired to be a professional artist. But after receiving a failing grade on his final art assignment in a advanced placement art class. He concluded it was too competitive and difficult to make a living as an artist as it was very subjective. Time went by and his love for art hid from him due to his busy life.
As years went by Jon also suffered from many serious health problems. Despite these challenges he decided he wasn’t going to give up on his dreams. He started traveling in 2009. Since then he has traveled to over 100 countries and became a member of the Travelers Century Club. Jon became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and started a Mental Health Agency helping people like his brother who have autism. He also found his love for photography and art again in 2014. Jon started a website to display his work called,"Jon Roberts Photographic Paintings," to signify he will add oil paint to his photographs in the future. He started entering photography competitions briefly in 2016. The objective of the artist is to continue to create visual works that can give us a better understanding of various cultures and show we have more similarities than differences.
